The Things I do with my time........

It took me 3 days to get that last posting right!! (technophobe!)

Anyway.... another odd question for you all. A friend and I were discussing total rubbish as we often do over a coffee, and we found that we have exactly the same views on which condiments should go with which foods, so:

bacon sandwich - (ketchup or brown sauce?)

chips (fries for the US citizens among us!) - ketchup, mayonnaise, or brown sauce?

Fish Finger Sandwiches (now you should be really confused!)
sausages?
Cheese sandwiches?
scrambled eggs?

We went on for some time, and it was spooky how compatible we were! (and how many odd looks we were getting over our cries of "Brown!" "Red" and even "There's no excuse for mayonnaise!!"

my last fish finger sandwich had mustard mayo spread on one slice of wholemeal bread (the ones with all the pips and seeds, lovely) and then tomato ketchup on the fish fingers themselves and chili powder sprinkled ontop.... honest! lovely!

definitely brown sauce with bacon butties.
tomato ketchup to dip my chips in.
mash and beans with sausages.
cucumber with cheese in my sandwich.
toast and baked beans with scrambled egg.

I seem to remember we had this conversation the other week when we met..... (yes I know, strange topic to have with someone you haven't seen in 15 or more years), and I think I remember getting 5 out of 5... so what do I win?

But then there is always the more contentious issue of whether you pour the sauce OVER the chips, sausages, bacon etc or on the side of the plate and dip the said foods IN the sauce....

But hey... we like contentious issues...

Forgot to mention my own answers!

bacon sandwiched - brown sauce!
Tomato ketchup for chips (in a little dollop on the side of the plate!)
Sausages - I love mash and beans, but it has to be brown sauce on a sausage sandwich!

Oops!

Cheese Sandwiches - brown sauce or branston pickle for savoury, or red jam
Scrambled eggs - brown sauce again!

however, i can't persuade most people that celery and lemon jelly make a fabulous combination!
